On the morning of October 5, traffic became complicated again in Kyiv between the left and right banks: cars are stuck on the Southern Bridge, and traffic jams are also recorded at other crossings. Public transport is delayed. A similar situation had arisen after previous attacks when traffic jams paralyzed the movement of bridges in Kyiv. Kyiv24 reports on this.

Where traffic jams formed in Kyiv on October 5

Traffic jams began around 07:00. The most difficult route is from the left bank to the right: cars are accumulating on the Southern Bridge. Movement is also complicated on the Northern and Darnytsia Bridges, as well as on the Paton and Metro Bridges.

Due to congested roads, buses and trolleybuses are operating with delays. The day before, Kyivpastrans restored bus routes №22, 91, 110, 111, and 112 with changes in schedules after the closure of the Podilsky Bridge. Earlier, a Russian drone damaged the Northern Bridge, which also affected the movement of transport.

Why bridge traffic in Kyiv is restricted on October 5

Since October 1, Russian drones have been attacking the Southern Bridge, damaging the supporting part, guardrail, and protective concrete cover of the metro. From October 3, the Northern Bridge came under attack.

The KMVA reported that during air raid alerts, the Southern Bridge may be closed for 15 minutes in the direction from the right bank to the left. The Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge may also be temporarily closed in both directions in such cases.

While the restrictions are in effect, trips between the banks may take longer, and delays in public transport may change passengers' usual routes. Before heading out, it is advisable to check the announcements from the city authorities and transport providers: after attacks, the movement across the crossings and bus routes may be adjusted.
