A man was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the murder of a grandmother who asked him to set up SMS banking for her. The crime occurred in November 2022 when the 83-year-old woman was strangled in her own apartment in Borshchahivka.
The 32-year-old criminal, originally from Kherson region, managed to get into the apartment under the pretense of offering help, but quickly changed his intentions and committed a horrific crime. He left the woman dead and took her card and phone.
In order to steal financial funds from the victim's card, the accused decided to get rid of her by strangling her on the bed.
After lengthy investigative actions and a court trial, the accused received a sentence of 13 years of imprisonment.
