An incident occurred in Kyiv – a young man set fire to a branch of Ukrposhta, believing he was helping the special services. He has been charged for this. According to information from the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, a 25-year-old Kyiv resident was charged with arson of the post office premises, which is part of JSC 'Ukrposhta.'

It has been established that the suspect's friend signed up on social networks with a girl who turned out to be cooperating with the Russian special services and has connections with an employee of Ukrposhta. Thus, the man was tasked with setting fire to the building where, presumably, a Russian agent works.

The suspect's friend took on this task, setting fire to the doors of the branch after purchasing gasoline.

The law enforcement authorities qualified the actions of the accused as intentional destruction of someone else's property by fire under Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a result, he faces imprisonment for a term of three to ten years.

More detailed information is available on the website of the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

From this, it follows that the young man set fire to the branch of Ukrposhta because he believed he was helping the Security Service of Ukraine. He was directed to this criminal act through a conspiracy on social networks, which led to serious legal consequences.
