In Kyiv, due to the unstable situation in the energy system, the operation of electric transport has been temporarily suspended on the left bank of the city. The restrictions are related to the need for the redistribution of electricity to ensure the critical infrastructure of the capital. This is reported by the KMDA.
Electric transport movement in Kyiv on January 10: what has changed
The KMDA reported that all electric transport on the left bank is currently not running. On the right bank, it continues to operate, but with deviations from the usual schedules. To minimize inconveniences, KP Kyivpastrans has launched duplicate bus routes.
Specifically, the following solutions have been organized:
-
bus route No. 3-T "Staro-Vokzalna St. – Ring Road" to duplicate the Borshchahivka high-speed tram
-
additional buses to replace electric transport on the left bank
The electricity that was previously used to power the electric transport of the left bank of the city has been redirected to the operation of facilities vital for the life support of Kyiv. After the stabilization of the energy system, the movement will be gradually restored.
Electric transport movement in Kyiv: situation in the metro
Due to the difficult energy situation caused by Russian shelling, the capital metro has reduced the number of trains on the lines. Currently, the interval for all three lines is 10–12 minutes. Passengers will be informed separately about the return to the weekend schedules with a 5-6 minute interval.
The KMDA asks residents and guests of the city to understand the temporary changes and take them into account when planning their trips.
Remember, in 2026 new rules for passenger access in the Kyiv metro are in effect, which include strict requirements for electronic tickets and restrictions on baggage transportation.
