20 new low-floor buses hit the routes in Kyiv

The capital has launched another 20 modern low-floor buses purchased from Turkey under an agreement with the European Investment Bank. They are already operating on city routes and partially replacing outdated transport. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

New Buses in Kyiv: Specifications and Equipment

A total of 80 such buses are already running in the city, and soon the fleet will be supplemented by another five. The total number under the agreement is 85 units.

The new vehicles are adapted for various categories of passengers and have modern equipment:

  • low floor and ramps for people with disabilities

  • air conditioning and heating system

  • information boards and sound announcements at stops

  • surveillance cameras

  • energy-saving LED lighting.

The 12-meter-long buses are designed for 27 seated passengers and up to 80 standing passengers.

City Routes: Where the New Transport is Already Operating

According to the mayor, the new buses have hit a number of popular routes and are partially renewing the existing rolling stock. In particular, they can be seen on the following routes:

  • № 20

  • № 25

  • № 35

  • № 42

  • № 43к

  • № 46

  • № 50

  • № 55

  • № 69

  • № 72

  • № 112

  • № 115.

The city authorities emphasize that the transport renewal is taking place under the project 'Urban Public Transport of Ukraine', which also includes the delivery of trams.

Previously, as part of this agreement, the capital had already received most of the planned buses and some new electric transport. The project aims to improve the comfort and safety of transportation for residents and guests of the city.

 

It should be noted that from March 1, 2026, a specialized transport service for veterans with disabilities or temporary mobility impairments will be launched in Kyiv based in Kyiv Military Hub.
