At the end of the week, residents and guests of Kyiv will be able to visit 11 thematic excursions dedicated to the history of the capital and the Constitution Day of Ukraine for free. The program includes bus and walking routes, and participation is only possible with prior registration. This is reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Free excursions in Kyiv: What has been prepared for Constitution Day
The Department of Tourism and Promotions of the KSCA, in collaboration with the Kyiv Tourism Development Center, has organized an excursion program that will last from June 26 to June 28. A total of 11 events will be held, including two bus excursions and nine walking ones.
Participants will be able to see the main historical landmarks of the capital, learn more about the development of Ukrainian statehood, and the history of the Constitution of Ukraine. All routes are adapted to wartime conditions: in case of an air alert, excursions will be suspended, and participants will be escorted to the nearest shelters.
Which routes are available this weekend
The program includes bus excursions:
-
«Kyiv: Through the Ages and Legends»;
-
«Kyiv: Chronicles and Modernity».
Those interested will also be offered walking routes:
-
«From the Charter of Liberties to the Basic Law»;
-
«Constitution - From Creation to the Present Day»;
-
«The Millennial Path of the Constitution».
During the excursions, participants will visit St. Sophia Cathedral, St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, Podil, Khreshchatyk, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and other significant places in the capital. Some routes are dedicated to the history of the formation of Ukrainian constitutionalism - from the earliest legal monuments to the adoption of the Constitution of independent Ukraine.
Registration for excursions is mandatory
The organizers emphasize that all excursions are free, but the number of places is limited. Participation is only possible after prior online registration and receiving confirmation via email.
Meeting places for participants will be communicated in the registration forms. The KSCA notes that such events are aimed at popularizing the history of Kyiv and helping residents and tourists rediscover the cultural heritage of the capital.
It should be noted that in Kyiv, partial traffic restrictions have been introduced on one of the key transport arteries of the Pechersk district for about a month.
