Blood Donor Day Marked by New Exhibition at Kyiv’s Golden Gate Metro Station

Виставка, присвячена донорству крові, розпочалась на станції метро Золоті Ворота в Києві.

'Donation Warms' Exhibition Opens

An illustration display titled 'Donation Warms' has launched in the lobby of the Golden Gate metro station to coincide with World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on June 14. Organized by the NGO 'Blood Agents' with support from the Kyiv Metro, the exhibition will run through June 26. This marks the fourth consecutive year the initiative has been held.

The showcase aims to highlight the critical importance of blood donation and introduce the public to the Artdonation-2026 competition, which also centers on donation themes. Among the inspiring stories featured is that of 19-year-old Kateryna Dzisiak, who donated stem cells to her mother, 45-year-old Nataliia Dzisiak. Nataliia suffered from aplastic anemia, underscoring how donation can save lives.

The Significance of Donation

Beyond raising awareness, the 'Donation Warms' exhibition encourages concrete action, urging citizens to become donors and support those in need.

This effort is part of a broader movement to promote donation across Ukraine, a cause that has grown increasingly urgent amid rising demand for donated blood and stem cells. Such campaigns not only boost public understanding but also help foster a culture of mutual aid within society, potentially yielding long-term benefits for public health.

As the 'Donation Warms' exhibition highlights the vital role of blood donation, it is essential to understand the ongoing challenges faced by patients in need. The demand for blood donations remains high, particularly for the injured and those battling cancer.
