Kyiv residents will not lose money for trips purchased before the tariff increase and unused by September 14. Within a week, their cost will be automatically credited to the 'My Wallet' of the transport card. Earlier, the city allowed the use of old trips during the transitional period. This is reported by the Kyiv City Administration.
How to get money back for old trips in Kyiv
Passengers do not need to do anything extra. The cost of all unused old trips purchased before September 14 will be automatically credited to the balance of the transport card in the 'My Wallet' section.
The amount will depend on the price at which the trips were purchased. For example, if there are 10 trips left on the card at 6.50 UAH each, the passenger will receive 65 UAH.
This money can be spent on purchasing new trips at the current tariffs. After the price increase in July, a single trip costs 30 UAH, but transport card holders can pay less by buying packages.
The cost of one trip depends on the quantity: 1–9 trips cost 30 UAH each, 10–19 – 28.90 UAH, 20–29 – 27.80 UAH, 30–39 – 26.60 UAH, 40–49 – 25.50 UAH, and a package of 50 trips allows payment of 25 UAH each.
How to use the money in Kyiv Digital
To use the refunded funds in the 'Kyiv Digital' application, you need to open the 'Transport Card', select the required card, go to 'My Wallet' and click 'Buy trips'.
There is also an easier option. Money from the 'Wallet' can be used directly during validation for both plastic and digital transport cards.
If there are no previously purchased trips on the card, the validator will automatically deduct 30 UAH for one trip from the 'Wallet'. Therefore, it is more profitable for regular passengers to purchase a package in advance and get a lower price.
The transitional period after the tariff increase ended on September 14. From now on, old trips cannot be directly used anymore, but their monetary value does not expire.
