In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, the distribution of Warm Packages for people who have been most affected by the difficult situation in the energy system and severe frosts has begun. This is targeted assistance for people with limited mobility, those in difficult life circumstances, and lonely pensioners. This is reported by Yulia Sviridenko.
Assistance is provided within specific support measures alongside nationwide programs. The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Naftogaz Group amid unprecedented Russian strikes on energy infrastructure and the worsening situation due to cold weather.
Warm Packages in Kyiv: who has already received assistance
The first 10,000 Warm Packages have already been delivered to residents of the areas where the situation remains most critical. Primarily, these are:
Darnytskyi district
Desnyanskyi district
Dniprovskyi district
Boryspil
Brovary.
The assistance is aimed at supporting people who have limited ability to care for themselves under conditions of power supply interruptions and low temperatures.
Warm Package: what is included in the set
Each Warm Package contains basic items necessary to survive the cold period. The kit includes items that help keep warm, stay connected, and charge medical devices in case of power outages.
The situation in Ukraine's energy system remains tense due to Russian attacks and freezing weather, therefore targeted support for the most vulnerable categories of the population is one of the priorities during martial law.
Recall that yesterday in Ukraine, a blackout occurred after a large-scale technological failure in the power lines connecting the country with Moldova, as well as due to extreme cold.
