Preliminary investigation of a war crime in Kyiv
A preliminary investigation into the war crime committed by the Russian Federation has been initiated in Kyiv following a drone attack that resulted in several people being injured. The attack occurred on December 23, 2025, damaging a 5-story residential building in the Svyatoshyn district. According to preliminary data, among the injured are three people, including a 16-year-old girl who sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
At the time of the attack, two of the injured were hospitalized, including a 58-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man who received assistance on site. Another woman with shrapnel wounds to the head was hospitalized in serious condition. Rescue workers and law enforcement officers are working at the scene.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, while the procedural leadership is provided by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
