In Kyiv, a 9th-grade student attacked a teacher and classmate with a knife: details of the incident

On January 12, 2023, a minor student attacked a teacher and classmate in Kyiv, resulting in both victims suffering serious injuries. The attacker turned out to be a 9th-grade student who used a knife during the incident. The 39-year-old teacher and her 14-year-old student received medical assistance, and both were hospitalized.

During the investigation, it became known that the attacker inflicted injuries on himself. He locked himself in the bathroom, where he sustained multiple cuts on his back and forearms. The teacher received stab and cut wounds to her hands and abdomen. This raised concerns among parents and students of the educational institution.

Reaction and Consequences

The police opened a criminal proceeding under parts 2 of Article 15 and paragraph 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which relate to attempted murder. Additionally, the investigation revealed that the attacker had correspondence with allegedly hostile secret services, which may indicate the background of his actions.
