A captivating discussion took place in the capital regarding the improvement of legislation on housing rentals. Representatives of government bodies, real estate market participants, and international partners came together to discuss ways to enhance the situation in the rental market, particularly for internally displaced persons.
Those present at the event discussed the need to make official housing rentals accessible and convenient for all, and the already developed solutions are seen as the foundation for further legal changes. Participants also raised the issue of the shadowing of the market and unofficial agreements that hinder tenants from receiving government support.
Proposals to improve the situation
During the discussion, various proposals were discussed, including creating a unified register of rented residential premises, implementing standard rental agreement forms, simplifying the procedure for concluding contracts through administrative centers, changes in taxation, and the possibility of tax benefits for vulnerable segments of the population.
International partners supported the willingness to cooperate and support the reform of the housing rental market in Ukraine. The Ministry of Development continues to work on innovations to create quality mechanisms in the housing sector and government support for citizens in need of assistance.
