У Києві відкрито центр навчання лідерства для громад і міст.

New School for Cities and Communities Opens in Kyiv

A new initiative called the School for Cities and Communities has been launched in Kyiv, co-founded by Denys Paramonov. This project is part of the broader educational and analytical consortium 'Shkola Nyzhnyoho' and is designed to train and develop local governance teams. The opening event featured prominent Ukrainian officials, including Oleksiy Kuleba, Olena Shuliak, and Mykola Kalashnyk. For an English-speaking audience, this effort reflects Ukraine's push to strengthen municipal leadership amid ongoing reconstruction needs.

Curriculum of the School for Cities and Communities

The School for Cities and Communities offers a curriculum covering a wide range of community development areas, such as:

  • education
  • healthcare
  • social protection
  • security
  • municipal governance
  • veterans policy
  • investment attraction
  • local economic development
  • cross-sector partnerships

Participants will include community heads and their teams, heads of relevant departments, local council deputies, and municipal administrators.

“After the war, Ukraine will need not only resources but also strong management teams.”

Denys Paramonov

Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister for Restoration, noted that 'the speed at which people receive new housing, schools are rebuilt, and quality water supply is restored depends on the professionalism of local teams.' He stressed the importance of investing in education and the development of capable communities.

“The most important investment is people and their ability to build strong communities.”

Anna Mishchenko, another project initiator, stated, 'We will make the School for Cities and Communities a place where a new generation of local leaders is formed and partnerships are created that will work for Ukraine's recovery and development.' She emphasized the need to build an ecosystem of cooperation among local self-government, the state, business, experts, and international partners.

In essence, the School for Cities and Communities aims not only to educate but also to create a powerful platform for the development and restoration of Ukrainian communities.

The launch of the School for Cities and Communities in Ukraine marks a significant step toward improving local governance and quality of life in communities. This initiative, which brings together government, business, and educational efforts, has the potential to create resilient management structures capable of effectively responding to the country's challenges. Partnerships across different sectors of society will form the foundation for successful reforms and post-war recovery.
