Heat Supply Restoration in Kyiv

Efforts are underway in Kyiv to restore central heating systems damaged by recent attacks, yet 1,142 apartment buildings remain without heat. The most severe situations are in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, where an additional 63 crews comprising 257 specialists are working to repair the damage. In the Desnianskyi district, heat has been restored to most buildings, with crews now addressing isolated local breakdowns.

Support from International Partners

The city authorities expect to receive support from international partners in the coming days. Locations for tent camps in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts have also been identified to provide necessary shelter for residents. Shopping centers operating as 'Invincibility Points' are functioning partly on a 24/7 basis, offering citizens support under these difficult conditions.

Beyond Kyiv, restoration work is also ongoing in Kharkiv and Dnipro. In Kharkiv, additional equipment is being brought in from other regions to improve the situation. To support residents, two 'invincibility railcars' are being sent to Kyiv's Darnytskyi district and six to Kharkiv. These railcars provide heat, electricity, internet, and hot drinks. Furthermore, the organization Food Train is supplying hot meals to those in need.

Restoring heating across Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro, is critically important as winter conditions can severely impact civilian life. These efforts highlight the ongoing strain on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure from the war. The authorities are actively securing international aid and organizing temporary shelters for those left without heat, underscoring the vital role of humanitarian assistance and the government's response to the consequences of attacks on the country's infrastructure.
