From July 15, new tariffs for public transport in Kyiv will come into effect. A single trip will cost 30 UAH, while a discount system is provided for passengers who regularly use transport cards or monthly passes. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

Cost of travel in Kyiv from July 15: how much will a single trip cost

After several weeks of discussions, the city authorities have finally approved new tariffs. The base price for a single trip in public transport will be 30 UAH.

For users of the transport card, a cumulative discount system will be in place. The more trips a passenger buys, the lower the cost of each:

  • 1-9 trips - 30 UAH;

  • 10-19 - 28.90 UAH;

  • 20-29 - 27.80 UAH;

  • 30-39 - 26.60 UAH;

  • 40-49 - 25.50 UAH;

  • 50 trips - 25 UAH.

Monthly passes will also remain on sale. Depending on their type, a single trip will cost approximately 23.3-23.6 UAH.

Travel in Kyiv: what will happen to old trips and which benefits will remain

After public consultations, the city authorities reviewed the price of the unlimited monthly pass. Its price was reduced by 25% from the initial offer. It will now cost 3656 UAH.

For students and schoolchildren, the current benefits remain unchanged. Students will pay half the cost of the monthly pass, while schoolchildren will use public transport for free during the academic year. In the summer period, they will only pay 25% of the fare.

Approximately from August 1, the city plans to introduce a transfer ticket for 60 UAH. It will allow unlimited transfers between all types of public transport within 90 minutes.

The KCSA also reported that trips purchased on the transport card before July 14 will remain valid until September 14, 2026. After that, unused trips will not be canceled: their value will be automatically converted into cash balance on the transport card. At the same time, all legislatively defined benefits for free travel in Kyiv remain in place.

It is worth noting that in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, emergency rescue work has been completed at the site where a missile hit a 16-story residential building. As a result of the Russian attack on July 2, 31 people died, and 102 were injured.
