The situation with electricity and heating in Ukraine
As of January 11, 2026, the situation with electricity and heating in Ukraine remains complicated due to Russian strikes, especially in border regions and Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the continuation of repair work in the capital, where the consequences of attacks on heating facilities are being addressed.
After the last massive enemy attack, six thousand apartment buildings were left without heating. However, by the morning of January 11, 2026, most of these buildings have been reconnected. Currently, over a thousand houses in the capital remain without heating. Water supply has been restored to all residents.
Challenges and work in the regions
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko noted that due to damage to the city's infrastructure, the situation remains extremely difficult. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that energy workers, repair teams, and utility services are working at the limits of their capabilities, performing exceptionally important work in crisis conditions.
Work is ongoing not only in Kyiv but also in border regions such as:
- Brovary
- Vasylkiv
- Fastiv
- Boryspil
As well as in regions where energy workers are actively engaged, particularly in:
- Dniprova
- Zaporizhia
- Kharkiv
- Donetsk regions
The situation remains under control; however, the challenges arising from Russian strikes require constant attention and effort from all services.
The situation with electricity supply and heating in Ukraine is critically important, as winter poses additional challenges for the population. Restoring infrastructure in the face of constant attacks is a priority for the state and also emphasizes the importance of cooperation between different services. Continuing repair work is essential to ensure normal living conditions for citizens, especially during cold periods.
