Starting from August 1, passengers of Kyiv's transport will be able to transfer between metro, buses, trams, trolleybuses, and funiculars unlimitedly for 60 UAH within 90 minutes. The new ticket will be beneficial for complex routes with several transfers. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

How the 90-minute ticket will work in Kyiv starting August 1

The countdown of 90 minutes will begin from the moment the electronic ticket is activated. During this time, the passenger can change public transport without additional payment, including transferring from a bus to the metro, and then to a tram or trolleybus.

For two separate trips, the passenger would also pay 60 UAH, so the real savings start from the third boarding. For example, three single tickets cost 90 UAH, while the transfer ticket will allow overcoming such a route for 60 UAH.

How much trips cost in Kyiv's transport in July 2026

The base price of one trip is 30 UAH starting from July 15. At the same time, passengers were offered discounts when replenishing their transport card:

  • 1-9 trips – 30 UAH each;

  • 10-19 trips – 28.90 UAH;

  • 20-29 trips – 27.80 UAH;

  • 30-39 trips – 26.60 UAH;

  • 40-49 trips – 25.50 UAH;

  • 50 trips – 25 UAH.

Thus, a package of 50 trips will cost 1250 UAH. Compared to paying for each trip separately, the passenger will save 250 UAH. For regular routes without many transfers, this option will be more beneficial than the 90-minute ticket.

Why the fare in Kyiv increased in 2026

The city authorities explain the revision of tariffs by the rising costs of electricity, fuel, salaries, vehicle repairs, and infrastructure maintenance. Until July, the fare in public transport had not changed since 2018.

According to transport enterprises, the economically justified fare for a trip is 64.60 UAH on the metro and 44.14 UAH on surface transport. The tariff of 30 UAH covers only part of the expenses, while the rest will continue to be subsidized by the city budget.

Benefits for certain categories of passengers remain. Students will pay half the cost of a monthly pass, while schoolchildren will travel for free during the school year and with a discount during the summer holidays.

It is worth noting that in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv, emergency rescue operations have been completed at the site of the hit on a 16-story residential building. As a result of the Russian attack on July 2, 31 people died, and 102 were injured.
