Kyiv Traffic Accidents on June 6
Several traffic incidents occurred in Kyiv on June 6. On Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue, an Audi car collided with a truck after the Audi driver veered into oncoming traffic. The car’s driver was injured and taken away by an ambulance.
On the same day, a minibus overturned on Naberezhno-Rybalska Street, causing traffic disruptions toward the Pivnichnyi Bridge. The patrol police issued the following statement:
“Attention road users. Due to an accident on Naberezhno-Rybalska Street, traffic is congested in the direction of the Pivnichnyi Bridge.”
Suspect in Deadly Crash Apprehended
Additionally, on June 6, law enforcement in the capital detained Pavlo Pleshivtsev, the individual responsible for a fatal accident in the Solomianskyi district that claimed four lives. The SUV driver crashed into the structures of an underground pedestrian crossing. He has been officially notified of suspicion and faces up to 10 years in prison. Pleshivtsev, born in 1976, is a resident of the Kherson region and serves as the head of the Evangelical Christian Baptist community at the Church in the village of Pidstepne.
It was noted that prior to this tragedy, Pleshivtsev had been involved in four recorded accidents, two of which happened this year. He had also been repeatedly fined for systematically exceeding speed limits.
These events highlight the growing risks on the capital’s roads, especially when some drivers disregard traffic regulations. The arrest of Pleshivtsev and his history of violations may spark discussions about the need for stricter oversight of drivers with prior legal issues. Moreover, the recent accidents underscore the importance of caution and adherence to traffic rules to ensure road safety.
The recent incident involving Pavlo Pleshivtsev is not an isolated case, as just days earlier, another tragic event unfolded when a Mercedes driver crashed into an underground passage, resulting in four fatalities. This alarming trend of reckless driving in Kyiv raises serious concerns about road safety and the enforcement of traffic regulations.
