In the canine service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, there is a nursery for service dogs. Here, future four-legged rescuers are born, raised, and prepared for service, becoming an integral part of the rescue service.
To select puppies with great potential, the nursery carefully plans the selection of pairs: they choose dogs with the best working qualities, strong health, and stable psyche. After birth, the mother and her puppies are surrounded by attention around the clock, ensuring they receive daily check-ups, comfort, care, and a gradual transition to a five-time feeding regimen with special food so that the little ones grow healthy and strong.
A special stage is the introduction to the dog handler. He will become their friend, mentor, and partner in the first training sessions.
Recently, 7 small puppies have appeared in the nursery, and they have already begun their first stages of training. These little heroes have much learning and discovery ahead of them, and each of them is provided with the best conditions to become a reliable service dog in the DSNS in the future.
The nursery for service dogs of the DSNS is doing great work in educating and preparing puppies for activities as rescuers. Each little puppy gains the necessary skills and abilities to become a true hero in the rescue service in the future.
