Starting from September 1, a new air raid warning system is being introduced in Kirovohrad and Lviv regions. Now, alerts will only be announced in areas where there may be a threat from enemy drones or missiles. If there is a missile danger, sirens will sound throughout the whole region.
The Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv Regional State Administration explained: 'If there is a threat of drone attacks, the alert signal will be spread only in the areas that are under threat.'
Similar changes have already been implemented in Kyiv region in July this year, where alerts are announced selectively in certain areas in case of drone attack threats. A similar testing of the selective warning system also began in Chernihiv region on August 27.
The public advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration emphasized: 'Residents of the area should be vigilant and track the alert signals via a special application and social networks.'
These changes are aimed at improving the effectiveness of informing the public about possible dangers and the speed of response to potential threats.
