China Announces an Automated Hotel Project
Pudu Robotics has unveiled plans to construct a fully automated hotel in Guangdong Province, China, with an opening date set for 2027. The company, which specializes in service robotics, will manage the property itself. Located on West Artificial Island along the Shenzhen-Zhongshan corridor, the hotel complex is designed to offer a unique getaway experience.
How the Hotel Will Operate
Every core service at this hotel will be handled by robots, including:
- front desk check-in
- room service
- cleaning
- food preparation
- guest assistance
The entire system runs on the PuduFM 1.0 model and the PuduAgent platform, which leverage navigation technology and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. The hotel will open in phases, starting with a limited number of rooms.
Public trials are scheduled for late 2026. At the hotel's signing ceremony, Pudu Robotics showcased its integrated robots, demonstrating autonomous retail and in-room deliveries via the FlashBot system. During the demo, PUDU T300 workers—capable of hauling heavy luggage—operated elevators independently and had a payload capacity of 300 kilograms.
Additionally, PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1 robots used artificial intelligence to detect waste and autonomously clean floors. Meanwhile, BellaBot Pro served freshly brewed coffee, engaging guests through voice interaction and light effects. KettyBot Pro handled snack and beverage deliveries, displaying information on its built-in screen. The demonstration concluded with interactive performances by PUDU D5, highlighting robotics' potential in the hospitality industry.
Pudu's co-founder and CTO, Kong Guo, noted: 'This also offers a chance to explore new service models where AI and robotics work together to deliver an intelligent, comprehensive real-world experience.'
The initiative is being developed in partnership with the Shenzhen Department of Culture and Tourism Development, reflecting strong local government support for innovation in the tourism sector.
West Artificial Island, where the hotel is situated, opened in December 2025, creating additional opportunities for regional tourism infrastructure growth.
