The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that it has no plans to send its troops to Ukraine as a security guarantee.

Spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Zhao Lijian, emphasized that the rumors about possible participation of Chinese military in Ukrainian territory are unfounded. This pertains to information from the German publication Welt about potential Chinese involvement in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine under a UN mandate.

'China's position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear,' the diplomat emphasized.

The discussion of possible deployment of Western military forces in Ukraine as a security guarantee against Russian military aggression became relevant after the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the USA, Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, in Washington. Moscow opposed the involvement of NATO forces in Ukraine and proposed involving China in the process of providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

The statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms the country's refusal of military intervention in Ukrainian events and its support for maintaining the peace process in the conflict area.
