On Saturday, July 19, an accident occurred in Los Angeles when a car crashed into a crowd of people waiting to enter a nightclub. 30 people were injured, some of them critically. The information was provided by The Guardian portal.
According to the fire department, the accident happened on Santa Monica Boulevard. All the injured were taken to hospitals and trauma centers.
Captain Adam VanGerpen stated that a Nissan Versa vehicle crashed into a line predominantly made up of women and collided with a van as well as a parking kiosk nearby.
One of the injured was shot.
Witnesses reported that the driver was pulled from the car and beaten. As a result, he was shot. The police are searching for an assailant described as a bald Hispanic man wearing blue clothing, possibly with a silver revolver. After the shooting, he fled the scene.
“The Los Angeles police are conducting a wide-scale investigation,” added VanGerpen. He also noted that club patrons were the first to assist the injured before the paramedics arrived.
“People were just standing by the club. Next to them was a van, someone was eating, someone was waiting in the parking lot. And then the car crashed into them,” said VanGerpen.
