A half marathon will be held in Lviv on May 3: how public transport will change

On May 3 in Lviv, due to the half marathon «NewRun Lviv», public transport routes will be temporarily changed. The restrictions will be in effect for several hours in the central part of the city. This is reported by the Lviv City Council.

Half marathon in Lviv: how transport will change

The race will take place on the occasion of the City Day and will gather both professional athletes and amateurs. Therefore, on May 3, from approximately 8:50 to 13:00, some routes will operate with changes.

The greatest adjustments will concern the buses, which will either bypass the central part of the city or shorten their routes.

Among the key changes:

  • some routes will be shortened to Prince Yaroslav Osmomysl Square or the «Magnus» shopping center
  • some buses will operate on divided routes
  • some services will bypass the center via Chornovola Avenue and Lypynskoho Street

Transport routes in Lviv: what will change on May 3

The changes will affect dozens of public transport routes in Lviv.

Buses No. 1A will operate on the following route: Dublyany — B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Haidamatska Street — Zamarstynivska Street — Pidvalna Street — I. Franka Street — Knyaz Roman Street — Halytska Square (in both directions);

Buses No. 3A will run from Striyska Street to Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Buses No. 5A will go from Vynnyky to Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Buses No. 6A will run from Riasne-2 to Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center);

Buses No. 8A will go from Bryukhovychi to the intersection of Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction — along Varshavska Street;

Buses No. 9 will run as follows: Murovane — B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Haidamatska Street — Zamarstynivska Street — Pidvalna Street — I. Franka Street — I. Franka Square — D. Vitovsky Street — A. Sakharov Street — then according to the route (in both directions);

Buses No. 12 will run in both directions along Mykolaychuka Street — Hrinchenka Street — Bus Station No. 2 in both directions;

Buses No. 15 will operate along Lychakivska Street — Mytna Square — I. Franka Street — Zelenyi Street;

Buses No. 17

  • towards Mykolaychuka Street will go as follows: Horkoho Street — Shevchenko Street — Kleparivska Street — Yeroshenka Street — Lypynskoho Street — Chornovola Avenue (then according to the route),
  • towards Kurmanovicha Street — unchanged;

Buses No. 20 will operate on a divided route:

  • Poliova Street — Dolynskoho Street — Zamarstynivska Street,
  • Levandivka — Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center);

Buses No. 21 will be shortened and will go as follows: «Three Elephants» shopping center — Doroshenka Street (main post office);

Buses No. 22 will go to the intersection of Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction — along Varshavska Street;

Buses No. 25 will run from Striyska Street to Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center);

Buses No. 29 will run from Vynnyky to Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Buses No. 31

  • towards Halytske intersection will go as follows: Horkoho Street — Shevchenko Street — Kleparivska Street — Yeroshenka Street — Lypynskoho Street — Chornovola Avenue (then according to the route),
  • towards the railway station – unchanged.

Buses No. 34

  • towards Hrinchenka Street will go as follows: Horkoho Street — Shevchenko Street — Kleparivska Street — Yeroshenka Street — Lypynskoho Street — Chornovola Avenue (then according to the route),
  • towards Bilohirshcha — unchanged;

Buses No. 37 will operate on a divided route:

  • Pidholosko Street — Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction, it will go along Varshavska Street,
  • H. Khotkevych Street — Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Buses No. 39 will run from Bohdanivska Street to Halytska Square;

Buses No. 41

  • towards Halytske intersection will go as follows: Horkoho Street — Shevchenko Street — Kleparivska Street — Yeroshenka Street — Lypynskoho Street — Chornovola Avenue (then according to the route),
  • towards Sykhivska Street – unchanged;

Buses No. 43 will go along S. Bandery Street — M. Verbytskyi Street — M. Kopernik Street — D. Vitovsky Street — I. Franka Square — I. Franka Street — Zelenyi Street — then according to the route (in both directions);

Buses No. 45 will operate as follows: VIC «Victoria Gardens» — Knyagini Olga Street — Vitovskogo Street (in both directions) — I. Franka Street — Barvynskykh Street;

Buses No. 46 will operate as follows: Holoskivskyi cemetery — I. Mykolaychuk Street — Hetman I. Mazepa Street — B. Hrinchenka Street — B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Haidamatska Street — Zamarstynivska Street — B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square — I. Honty Street — Danyla Halytskoho Square — Pidvalna Street — V. Buses No. 47A will operate on a divided route:

  • Riasne-2 — intersection of Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction, it will go along Varshavska Street,
  • Santa Barbara — Halytska Square;

Buses No. 48 will operate as follows: B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Haidamatska Street — Zamarstynivska Street — Pidvalna Street — I. Franka Street — I. Franka Square — D. Vitovsky Street — A. Sakharov Street — then according to the route (in both directions);

Buses No. 51 will operate on a divided route:

  • VIC «Victoria Gardens» — Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center),
  • Halytske intersection – Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street — in the reverse direction it will go along Varshavska Street.

Buses No. 52 towards Varshavska Street will be trimmed to Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center);

Buses No. 53 will operate as follows: B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Haidamatska Street — Zamarstynivska Street — B. Khmelnytskyi Street — Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square — I. Honty Street — Danyla Halytskoho Square — Pidvalna Street — Mytna Square — Soborna Square — I. Franka Street — then according to the route (in both directions);

Buses No. 55a/No. 56a will run to the intersection of Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction — along Varshavska Street;

Buses No. 57 will be trimmed to Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Buses No. 58/No. 59 will be trimmed to the «Pidzamche» station;

Buses No. 61 will operate on a divided route:

  • s. Pidryasne — Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center),
  • s. Pidbirtse — Knyaz Yaroslav Osmomysl Square (Dobrobut);

Bus No. 63 will go to the «Pidzamche» station;

Buses No. 84 will operate on a divided route:

  • Rudne — Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center),
  • Shurata Street – intersection of Chornovola Avenue — Lypynskoho Street. In the reverse direction, it will go along Varshavska Street;

Buses No. 92 towards Dzh. Washington Street will be trimmed to Horkoho Street (Magnus Shopping Center);

Trams No. 1 will go as follows: railway station — Vitovskogo Street — I. Franka Square — I. Franka Street — Mytna Square — Lychakivska Street — Mechnikov Street — Pohulyanka;

Trams No. 2 will go as follows: Konovalytsa Street — Vitovskogo Street — I. Franka Square — I. Franka Street — Mytna Square — Lychakivska Street — Pasichna Street;

Trams No. 6 and No. 9 will go as follows: railway station — D. Vitovskogo Street — I. Franka Square — I. Franka Street — Pidvalna Street — Zamarstynivska Street — Khmelnytskyi Street — Promyslova Street (tram depot);

Trams No. 7 will go as follows: Pohulyanka Street — Mechnikov Street — Lychakivska Street — Pidvalna Street — Zamarstynivska Street — Khmelnytskyi Street — Promyslova Street (tram depot);

Trolleybuses No. 33 will not run until 14:00.

The restrictions are due to the closure of part of the streets in the city center for the safe conduct of the race. After the event, transport will return to its usual schedule.

Similar changes during mass events in Lviv are implemented regularly, especially on days of large sports or holiday events.

It should be noted that eight large buses arrived in Lviv, delivered to the city by the Italian side. The transport is already being prepared for operation and adaptation to local needs.
