«Lviv Electric Transport» is recruiting tram and trolleybus drivers and is ready to provide free training for candidates with no experience. During the three-month training, 10,000 UAH will be paid monthly, and after employment, the salary starts at 30,000 UAH. The staffing issue for the city is not new: earlier in Lviv, there were more than 60 driver vacancies. This was reported by Lviv Portal with reference to the city council.

Who can become a tram or trolleybus driver in Lviv

The «Drivers' School» invites women and men aged 21 and older. A complete general secondary education and a positive conclusion from the medical commission are required. Previous experience in driving transport is not necessary.

Training lasts for three months. The first two months are dedicated to theory, and the third is for internships. The training is free, with participants receiving a scholarship of 10,000 UAH every month.

After successfully passing exams at the MVS service center and employment, the new driver will additionally receive a bonus of 10,000 UAH. The enterprise also guarantees a workplace, a social package, and the possibility of early retirement.

The shortage of drivers concerns not only electric transport. At the beginning of 2026, Lviv's ATP No. 1 had over 80 driver vacancies for buses and offered salaries starting from 40,000 UAH.

What salary does «Lviv Electric Transport» offer

Beginning tram and trolleybus drivers are promised a salary starting from 30,000 UAH per month. Experienced employees can earn from 40,000 UAH.

Currently, the enterprise lacks about 100 drivers. Therefore, new groups are being prepared directly for work on city routes.

Future trolleybus drivers are already taking final exams, after which they will move on to passenger internships. The tram driver's group has completed testing in the training area and is moving on to practical driving in the city. Final exams for them are scheduled for October.

The staffing shortage of drivers remains a problem for public transport in various cities of Ukraine. It is worth noting that earlier Inkorr reported how much transport drivers earn in Ukraine in 2026.
