Priest's Wife in Lviv Welcomes Seventh Child After 28 Years of Marriage

Дружина священника з Львова радіє появі на світ сьомої дитини після довгих 28 років спільного життя.

Priest's Family Celebrates Arrival of Seventh Child

In Lviv, 46-year-old Nataliia Kurpita, the wife of a priest, has given birth to her seventh child—a baby girl—following 28 years of marriage. The delivery occurred naturally at 39 weeks in a Lviv hospital. The child was named Marianna and was born on the Day of Remembrance for the Holy Martyr Marianna.

The couple, Nataliia and Father Petro, are already raising six daughters. All seven of their children are girls. Their sixth daughter was born in Slovakia due to the war, while the seventh was born in Ukraine. During her final month of pregnancy, Nataliia developed blood pressure issues, leading to her hospitalization in the Department of Pregnancy Pathology and Extragenital Pathology at Lviv's First Medical Association.

The Significance of Family Values

Nataliia noted that during routine check-ups, she and her husband tried to learn the baby's sex.

When my husband and I went for routine check-ups and wanted to know the baby's sex, my husband would ask the doctor if it was a girl, and the doctor would smile and ask how we knew. Petro would say he just felt it was another girl. But for us, it makes no difference because each of our children is a gift from God, our comfort, our joy, and the very reason we live.
— Nataliia shared.

She also added that the feeling of new life is profoundly significant:

When you feel that new life is already growing within you; when younger children are born and the older ones help; when the house is constantly filled with children's laughter—you thank God for each day, for the children, and for your husband, and you understand that life takes on its highest meaning.
