In Lviv, traffic will be temporarily restricted on part of Shevchenko Street this weekend due to the laying of new asphalt. The works will be carried out in three stages, and public and private transport will be rerouted. This is reported by the Lviv City Council.
Shevchenko Street Repair in Lviv July 18-19: Closure Schedule
Paving is scheduled for the weekend to reduce the impact on city traffic. Due to the works, certain sections of the road will be closed in stages from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
The work schedule looks like this:
- From 10:00 PM on Friday to 6:00 AM on Saturday, the intersection of Shevchenko and Bryukhovytska streets will be repaired;
- From 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, work will continue on the section from Bryukhovytska Street to Kalynova Street;
- From 10:00 PM on Saturday to 6:00 AM on Sunday, July 19, asphalt will be laid between Kalynova and Tomaszivska streets.
During this time, traffic on the respective sections will be completely closed.
Changes to Bus Routes in Lviv for the Weekend
During the repair period, the schemes for several bus routes will be changed. The changes apply to Saturday.
Buses No. 6A, No. 11, No. 12, No. 47A, No. 49A, and No. 61 will operate according to the changed routes. They will travel via Bryukhovytska and Kalynova streets, after which they will return to their usual routes to the final stops.
The detour for private transport will be organized in the same way. Drivers are advised to take the temporary restrictions into account when planning trips, especially around Shevchenko Street.
The repairs are part of planned work to renew the road surface. The city council emphasizes that carrying out the asphalt laying on weekends should help reduce inconveniences for residents and minimize traffic jams.
It should be noted that private carriers in Lviv have warned about the possible suspension of some bus routes due to a sharp rise in fuel prices and the unprofitability of transport under the current fare.
