In Lviv, from April 27, the action of the privileged LeoCard is being expanded: residents of other communities who have the right to free travel will be able to use it. The relevant decision was made by the executive committee of the city council on April 24. This was reported by Suspilne.
Privileged LeoCard in Lviv: who will gain access
From Monday, the right to use the privileged LeoCard will be granted to residents of communities outside of Lviv if they belong to the first and second categories of beneficiaries.
This includes, in particular:
-
persons with defined beneficiary statuses;
-
children from large families;
-
other socially vulnerable categories.
Deputy Mayor of Lviv Lyubomyr Zubach explained that the decision was a compromise reached after discussions within the Lviv agglomeration. Previously, some beneficiaries from communities lost the right to free travel.
«There is a position to restore the possibility of free travel for the most critically vulnerable categories of the population. As for other categories, we agreed on further communication,» he noted.
Changes in Lviv's transport: what was previously
Prior to this, the conditions for using the transport card had already been revised in the city. In particular, on March 10, free transfers within 40 minutes were temporarily suspended, and privileged cards for residents of other communities were deactivated.
Subsequently, some changes were revised:
-
from April 11, the possibility of free transfers within 40 minutes for LeoCard users was restored;
-
on April 7, the city council proposed new tariffs:
-
23 UAH — when paying with LeoCard;
-
26 UAH — with a bank card;
-
30 UAH — in cash.
-
The decision to expand the privileges is the next step in revising the city's transport policy.
Let us remind you that eight large buses arrived in Lviv, transferred to the city by the Italian side. The transport is already being prepared for operation and adaptation to local needs.
