In Lviv, preparations are underway to change the fares for public transport, while from April 11, free transfers will once again be available in the city. This is reported by the Lviv City Council.
Fare increases in Lviv: what prices are proposed
The city authorities did not support the initiative of carriers to raise the fare to 42 UAH. Instead, a moderate adjustment of fares is proposed.
The following prices are planned:
-
student ticket — 11.5 UAH (instead of 8.5 UAH),
-
payment via LeoCart — 23 UAH (instead of 17 UAH),
-
by bank card — 26 UAH (instead of 20 UAH),
-
in cash — 30 UAH (instead of 25 UAH).
As explained by the city hall, this decision aims to maintain the quality of transportation without a sharp price increase.
Fares for public transport in Lviv: when will the decision be made
The review of fares procedure will take about a month. After that, the issue will be submitted to the Lviv City Council's executive committee, which will make the final decision.
At the same time, the city is renewing the free transfer between public transport routes — it will be operational again from Saturday, April 11.
The previous fare review took place in 2025. At that time, the cost of fuel was about 45 UAH per liter, whereas now it exceeds 90 UAH, which significantly affects the expenses of carriers and the overall operation of transport.
