Severe Storm Leads to Critical Incident Involving a Child in Lviv
A six-year-old girl was struck by lightning and hospitalized on June 29 during a severe storm in Lviv. She is currently in intensive care, though her condition is stable. According to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi,
“there are no visible marks from the strike.”
Damage Caused by the Storm
The storm brought more than just lightning, unleashing powerful winds that caused significant destruction across the city. The roof of the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration building was partially torn off, and 30 trees were uprooted. The Halytskyi District was the hardest hit, with nine trees downed, while the Shevchenkivskyi District saw seven trees toppled, damage to the district administration building, and seven cars affected.
This event highlights the importance of staying cautious during extreme weather, especially when strong storms are forecast. Local authorities are urging residents to follow safety guidelines and avoid being outdoors in hazardous conditions.
