In Ukraine, the ATB supermarket chain operates in several formats, which differ not only in appearance but also in service approach. In addition to the usual “blue” and newer “black” stores, there is also an experimental “green” format. This is reported by Telegraf.
ATB formats in Ukraine: how “blue” and “black” differ
Initially, all stores in the chain had a classic blue design. Later, they began to be called “blue” to distinguish them from the new formats.
Later, “black” ATB stores appeared with dark facades and updated decor. They are usually larger in area and offer a wider assortment.
Main features:
- larger sales area,
- availability of fresh pastries,
- coffee machines and additional services.
At the same time, the difference is explained not only by color but also by the scale and modernization of the stores themselves.
Green ATB Express: what is this format and how does it work
“Green” supermarkets appeared as an experimental format called ATB Express. They opened in 2018, including in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
This was a “store near home” format focusing on speed and modern technology.
Among the key features:
- through cash registers for quick service,
- testing new services, including fresh meat and pastries,
- modern refrigeration equipment,
- energy-efficient lighting and recovery systems,
- updated interior design.
It was expected that the testing would last until the end of 2018. Despite positive results, the format did not gain mass distribution.
In summary, the main differences between ATB formats come down to design, assortment, and level of technological equipment, which affects both customer comfort and the efficiency of store operations.
It should be noted that in the new advertisement of the Ukrainian supermarket chain ATB, famous Latvian singer Laima Vaikule appeared. In the film, she performs the Ukrainian folk song 'Shchedryk', accompanied by a choir and dance ensemble. This video was created for Christmas, and the caption mentioned the search for light in difficult times and joy among loved ones.
