Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics
The 2026 Winter Olympic Games were officially launched with an opening ceremony in Milan on February 6, 2026, at 9:00 PM Kyiv time. The Ukrainian delegation, consisting of 103 members, was led into the stadium by flag bearers Vladyslav Heraskevych (skeleton) and Yelyzaveta Sydoriko (short track). Team Ukraine is set to compete across 11 different sports disciplines, which include:

The event was broadcast on the 'Pershyi' TV channel, the 'Suspilne Sport' platforms, local 'Suspilne' channels, and the 'Suspilne Sport' YouTube channel.
Parallel Events and Musical Performances
Parallel celebrations took place in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Livigno, and Predazzo. Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted a parade of alpine skiers, lugers, and skeleton athletes, along with the lighting of a second Olympic cauldron in Piazza Dibona. Livigno and Predazzo held satellite ceremonies for snowboarders, freestyle skiers, and ski jumpers.
The musical segment of the ceremony featured performances by renowned artists, including:

Actors Sabrina Impacciatore and Pierfrancesco Favino also made appearances. Distinguished guests in attendance included UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Princess Anne.
