The Ministry of Internal Affairs held an Inaugural meeting, at which the launch of a new international project called 'Coalition of Shelters for Ukraine: international partnership for the safety of the population' was announced. The main goal of this initiative is to protect the civilian population of Ukraine from missile and drone attacks by Russia.
Participants in the event included the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, representatives of diplomatic institutions and international organizations. Among the Coalition partners were the government of Ukraine, Team Europe countries (Finland, EU, Lithuania, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden), and international financial institutions – the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the World Bank.
The main goal of the Coalition is to combine financing with the amalgamation of technologies and the experience of partner states for a large-scale modernization of protective structures and ensuring safe conditions for Ukrainians throughout the territory of the country.
The inaugural meeting of the 'Coalition of Shelters for Ukraine' at the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized the importance of countering threats and maintaining the safety of the population, uniting government structures, international partners, and financial institutions for effective protection of Ukraine's territory and caring for the welfare of its residents.
