In 2024, Ukraine received military aid from NATO countries amounting to 50 billion dollars, and by 2025 the supply rates are increasing. This was stated by the chairman of NATO's military committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavò Dragone, in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
'In 2024, the volume of aid provided reached 50 billion dollars. As of January 1, 2025, we have already reached 33 billion dollars, but by the end of the year we will meet the previous figure; the forecasts are very optimistic,' emphasized Dragone.
He stressed that the Alliance intends not only to maintain the current level of military support but also to strengthen it. 'The Ukrainian army is a model for Europe. On every occasion, NATO reiterates that our full support for Ukraine has never changed and will not change until there is a just and lasting peace,' he noted.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that the United States, together with NATO, has launched a new aid mechanism through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative. This program operates within the framework of agreements reached by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Europe has surpassed the USA in military aid to Ukraine
Also, it is worth noting that Europe has, for the first time, surpassed the USA in the amount of military aid to Ukraine.
The announcement that Ukraine received $50 billion in military aid from NATO in 2024 is a very important step in strengthening the country's defense capability. The support of Europe and the USA is proof that Ukraine can rely on the help of true allies during a difficult period for its country.
