In April 2026, the median gross salary in Poland was 7695 zlotys. This is 20.3% lower than the average - 9651.59 zlotys. Over the year, the median increased by 6%, and over the month - by 2.2%. Earlier, Inkorr reported that most workers earn less than the average salary. This is reported by InPoland referencing data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS).

What salaries did workers in Poland receive

The median shows that half of the workers earned no more than 7695 zlotys, while the other half earned at least this amount. The lowest 10% of salaries did not exceed 4806 zlotys, while the highest 10% amounted to at least 14,926 zlotys.

The median salary for men was 7877.52 zlotys, for women - 7545.48 zlotys. The difference is noticeable even among the highest earners: the threshold for the top 10% of men with the largest salaries was 15,820 zlotys, for women - 14,144.02 zlotys.

The size of the company also affected the median income. In enterprises with a thousand or more employees, it reached 9098.87 zlotys. In companies with nine or fewer employees, the median was 4806 zlotys - the minimum wage level.

In which industries were the highest salaries paid

The highest median salary was recorded in the information and communication sector - 13,007.75 zlotys. Leading in average earnings were financial and insurance activities: 17,202.48 zlotys. Other data on the Polish labor market also mention industries with salaries up to 18,940 zlotys.

The gender difference depended on the industry: in 15 out of 20 analyzed sectors, the median salary for men was higher, while in five - for women. The new GUS figures show why the average salary should not be perceived as the typical income of a worker. In February 2026, the average salary in Poland was 9966 zlotys, and data for April showed the difference between the average and median earnings.
