Another tunnel was discovered in Poland near the border with Belarus, through which 180 illegal migrants passed, 130 of whom were detained. This was reported by Glavkom, citing a statement from the Polish Border Guard.

Border Guard spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrzej Juzwiak reported that this tunnel was found on December 11. 'Yesterday, Border Guard officers discovered another tunnel dug under the Polish-Belarusian border near Narewka in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Migrants used this structure for illegal border crossing. More than 130 foreigners were detained, and the search for the remaining individuals continues,' the service's message states.

The border guards reported that the discovered tunnel stretches for dozens of meters under a technical road. Its height reaches about 1.5 meters. The entrance to the tunnel is located in the forest 50 meters from the Polish border with Belarus. The exit was found 10 meters from the barrier on the Polish side.

Detained illegal migrants and drivers

A total of 180 foreigners illegally crossed the border through this tunnel, and 130 people have already been detained by the police. According to the data from the Polish Border Guard, among the detained migrants are citizens of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

In addition to foreigners, the border guards detained drivers who were to pick up illegal migrants. They turned out to be a 69-year-old resident of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship and a 49-year-old citizen of Lithuania.

The fourth tunnel this year

It is noted that this is already the fourth tunnel discovered by the Polish Border Guard this year, specifically under the border between Poland and Belarus.

It is recalled that on December 8, the EU released Poland from the solidarity mechanism within the framework of the European Union migration pact. Now Poland is not obliged to accept migrants. Poland will not accept a part of the migrants who are under the most significant migration pressure, nor will it pay financial contributions. This decision is something Poland has long sought to achieve.

Earlier, Glavkom reported that in Poland, the Internal Security Agency detained a Russian scientist and representative of the Hermitage, Alexander B. He is wanted by Ukraine for conducting illegal archaeological research in temporarily occupied Crimea. The name of the detainee has not been disclosed, but based on the materials of the case, it concerns Alexander Butyagin, the head of the Department of Ancient Archaeology of the Russian State Hermitage.

The Polish Border Guard discovered another tunnel at the border with Belarus, through which illegal migrants passed. This also includes the detention of 130 individuals who intended to cross the border illegally. This is already the fourth case of tunnel discoveries this year, indicating a growing problem of illegal migration in the region. These situations signify the need for enhanced border control and increased caution in border areas.
