In Poland, there is again talk of changing the payment rules under the 800 Plus program. One of the representatives of the PiS party suggested increasing the assistance for each subsequent child in the family to stimulate birth rates and support large families. This is reported by InPoland.

They want to change the principle of 800 Plus payments in Poland

The idea of updating the state program was voiced by the Prime Minister candidate from the Law and Justice party, Przemyslaw Czarnek.

The politician believes that the current system needs changes, and the amount of assistance should depend on the number of children in the family.

«Everyone should receive 800 zlotys for the first child, but this amount should increase for each subsequent child», - said Czarnek.

According to him, this approach could become an additional incentive for Polish families to have more children.

What is known about the new initiative

Przemyslaw Czarnek emphasized that currently this is only his personal position, and not the official program of the PiS party.

«Our team has not yet made a decision on this issue», - the politician added.

Specific amounts for possible increases in payments for the second or third child have not yet been announced.

Currently, the 800 Plus program provides for the same monthly payment for each child regardless of the number of children in the family. Assistance is received by both Polish citizens and some foreigners legally residing in the country, including Ukrainians.

The 800 Plus program is one of the main social initiatives in Poland. It operates to support families with children and regularly becomes the subject of political discussions before elections.

For Ukrainians in Poland, possible changes may mean a review of the conditions for calculating assistance for large families in the future.

Recall that in Poland, the conditions for the appointment of 800 Plus assistance will change for Ukrainian citizens with UKR status. The new rules will affect about 150 thousand Ukrainian refugees and will come into effect at the beginning of the new settlement period.
