CUKR card in Poland: who can apply

The card is intended for Ukrainians who had the PESEL UKR status and wish to stay in Poland longer.

The following can apply:

  • Ukrainian citizens and their family members who arrived after February 23, 2022

  • Children born in Poland after this date, if their mothers have a CUKR card.

This concerns spouses, minor children, and close relatives, including holders of the Pole's Card.

How to apply for the CUKR card online

Submissions occur exclusively in electronic format through a special MOS service.

The action algorithm:

  1. Fill out the application in the MOS system

  2. Upload the necessary documents

  3. Save or edit data if necessary

  4. Submit the application online.

If the documents are completed correctly, the applicant will only be called to the voivodeship office to receive the prepared card.

The acceptance of applications will continue until March 4, 2027.

CUKR residence card: what changes for Ukrainians

After receiving the card, the legal status of residence in Poland changes.

It is important to note:

  • the UKR status is automatically canceled

  • you must report a change of address within 15 working days

  • leaving Poland for more than 6 months leads to the loss of the permit.

You also need to pick up the card in time. If this is not done within 60 days after notification, the permit will be canceled.

After the card's expiration, the next residence permit is issued according to the general rules.

The launch of the CUKR card is an attempt to systematize the stay of Ukrainians in Poland after several years of temporary protection. It provides more stability, but also imposes new obligations for those planning to stay in the country longer.
