The controversy surrounding the book featuring the portrait of the President of Poland

Recently, a real wave of outrage has arisen in Poland due to the book by Aleksandra Sarny titled 'Idiot. A Case from Practice', which features President Andrzej Duda on its cover. The Empik chain of stores temporarily removed this book from sale due to possible violations of the legislation on insulting the head of state. An investigation is currently underway to determine if the book actually contains anything offensive to Duda, as this could have serious consequences, including criminal prosecution.

A representative of Empik, Anna Gut-Mostowy, explained that the decision was made due to reports of possible legal violations. There is a chance that after the investigation is completed, the book will be allowed back on sale. The book, published by the Institute of Information Management, is described as an interesting journey through memories alongside the 'Idiot'.

The book may relate to an event when the writer had already used the term 'Idiot' in connection with the president and faced allegations of insult. This may significantly affect the results of the investigation.

Meanwhile, President Duda stated that Ukraine had requested to hand over MiG-29 aircraft, but this was hindered by the position of the USA. Furthermore, Poland had received signals regarding a ban on the transfer of other military equipment, not just aircraft.

A scandal has erupted in Poland surrounding the book featuring the president's portrait, which may violate legislation on insulting the head of state. The investigation continues, and all of this may have further consequences for the author and publishers, as well as for the president himself.
