Passengers planning summer travel in Poland with family or friends will have to spend more money on train tickets. The largest Polish carrier PKP Intercity is changing the terms of one of its most popular promotions ahead of the holiday season. This is reported by InPoland.

How the discount 'Cheaper with Loved Ones' will change in Poland from June 26, 2026

From June 26 to August 29, 2026, PKP Intercity will reduce the discount amount for the 'Cheaper with Loved Ones' program (Taniej z Bliskimi).

If previously participants of the promotion could get a 30% discount on tickets, during the period of summer peak demand, it will only be 15%.

After the holiday season, the carrier promises to return to standard program conditions and a discount of 30%.

Who will be affected by the ticket price increase for PKP Intercity in summer 2026

The 'Cheaper with Loved Ones' program is designed for groups of two to six people traveling on the same train, on the same route, and in the same class of carriages.

This offer is often used by families, friends, and travel companies, as it allows for significant cost savings on the trips.

To receive the discount, tickets must be purchased in advance – no earlier than 30 days and no later than 7 days before departure.

Why PKP Intercity is limiting discounts on trains in summer

The company explains its decision by the traditional increase in passenger flow during the summer season.

The highest demand is observed on routes to the Baltic coast, mountain resorts, and major tourist centers in Poland.

PKP Intercity notes that during peak loads, the carrier may temporarily limit certain promotional offers. As a result, passengers planning group trips in the summer will pay more for tickets than during the rest of the year.
