From the new school year, the rules for providing assistance «Good Start» (300 Plus) are changing in Poland. Part of foreigners will be able to receive benefits only under additional conditions. This is reported by “inPoland”.
300 Plus in Poland: what are the new conditions for foreigners
Starting from the 2026/27 school year, only those children of foreigners whose parents are economically active in Poland will have the right to receive payments.
This refers to the assistance of 300 zlotys for preparing a child for school. Now to receive it, you need to confirm employment in the month preceding the application submission.
The new rules actually equate the conditions to the 800 Plus program, where the economic activity of the applicant is also considered.

300 Plus assistance: who can receive payments without work
At the same time, exceptions are provided. The employment requirement will not apply if:
-
the child has Polish citizenship
-
the child is under official guardianship.
Foreigners who are not working but are registered as unemployed and have mandatory health insurance may also receive the payment.
The new rules will come into effect on July 1, 2026. Applications for benefits can be submitted from July 1 to November 30.
The changes are based on provisions adopted back in September 2025 and aim to link social benefits to participation in the country’s economy.
Let us remind you that in Poland part of Ukrainians under temporary protection lost automatic access to free medical care after changes in legislation. The new rules have already caused a wave of criticism and demands to reconsider the decision.
