In Poltava, two transport cards for fare payment have officially been introduced — the privileged "Poltava Card" and the universal "Wallet" card. Beneficiaries will be able to obtain personalized cards for free after submitting the required documents. As reported by Suspilne, the decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the city council, where it was supported by 11 members.
Poltava Transport Cards: What Types Have Been Introduced
Two types of cards will operate in the city:
-
"Poltava Card" — for beneficiaries, personalized and free;
-
"Wallet" — a standard transport card for fare payment.
As noted by the head of the transport department, Serhiy Hladkykh, the privileged cards will be produced at the contractor's expense and issued free of charge.
The implementation of the system is expected to take up to one year. Meanwhile, validators are being installed in the city: as of April, they are already operational in 10 trolleybuses and 2 buses, with several more sets being prepared for launch.
Poltava Card: How to Obtain a Subsidized Fare
To apply for a subsidized card, one must contact the system operator and submit a package of documents.
Required documents:
-
application form;
-
consent for personal data processing;
-
passport or other identification document;
-
document confirming entitlement to benefits;
-
identification code;
-
proof of residence in Poltava.
In some cases, additional documents may be required.
The system is designed to track all trips and protect personal data. This will allow the city to compensate carriers for the costs of transporting beneficiaries and further integrate the cards with other municipal services.
Recall that on the night of March 31, due to an attack by drones on Poltava, a multi-story residential building and infrastructure were damaged. As a result of the attack, one man died, and four others, including two children, sustained injuries.
