The press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov believes that negotiations on security guarantees should be conducted in a non-public format. He noted that this is one of the key issues in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, but emphasized that discussing this topic in a public setting is not beneficial for achieving results.

Peskov stated: 'Certainly, this is one of the most important topics (security guarantees) in the context of efforts to find a resolution to the war in Ukraine. Without a doubt, this topic always figures in the agenda of the contacts being held... But we would not like to discuss this topic in a public format at this time. We consider it unhelpful for overall effectiveness.'

Praised Trump for Peace Efforts

Peskov also expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his peace initiatives, adding that representatives of Russia and Ukraine are in contact, but the date for a new round of negotiations has not yet been agreed upon.

It is worth noting that earlier the special representative of the US president, Steve Vitkoff, reported that Russia had made a 'peace proposal' regarding the Donetsk region during discussions about ending the war against Ukraine.

In negotiations between Russia and the USA on security guarantees in Ukraine, it is important to pay attention to the non-public format of discussions to achieve effectiveness. Putin's press secretary also mentioned the cooperation between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, but a new round of negotiations is not yet scheduled.
