20 Officials Mysteriously Died in Russia Since the Great War Began

In Russia, the issue of strange deaths and suicides among officials has been raised for a long time, especially since the start of the war with Ukraine. Recently, a list of deceased employees of the Ministry of Transport has emerged, where the head Roman Starovoyt committed suicide, and his deputy Andrey Korniychuk died of a heart attack. This was reported by The Moscow Times based on information from Glavkom.



List of deceased officials over different years:


2022:



  1. Vyacheslav Trubnikov, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service;

  2. Lev Sotkov, retired Major General of the Foreign Intelligence Service;

  3. Aleksey Ogaryov, an employee of the Presidential Administration and 'Rosvoоружения';

  4. Zalim Kerefor, Vice-Rector of the Russian Customs Academy;

  5. Oleg Kortunov, head of Cheboksary;

  6. Pavel Antov, a deputy from 'United Russia';

  7. Ivan Pechorin, director of the aviation sector;

  8. Igor Nosov, general director of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.



2023:



  1. Marina Yankina, head of the finance department of the Western Military District;

  2. Vladimir Makarov, deputy head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the fight against extremism;

  3. Petr Kucherenko, deputy minister of science;

  4. Sergey Filatov, head of Boris Yeltsin's administration.



2024:



  1. Arthur Pryakhin, head of the Karelia branch of the antitrust service;

  2. Mikhail Maksimenko, former head of the internal security department of the Investigative Committee;

  3. Konstantin Klyuev, deputy head of Vladivostok's administration;

  4. Evgeny Golovaty, deputy head of the 'P' Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

  5. Vladimir Ananyev, deputy head of the Arkhangelsk regional administration;

  6. Igor Rozhnev, deputy head of the Main Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Krasnoyarsk Territory;

  7. Roman Starovoyt, head of the Ministry of Transport;

  8. Aleksey Korniychuk, deputy head of property management at the Russian Ministry of Transport's railway transport agency.



Circumstances of Death


From April to July 2022, four officials related to law enforcement agencies died under unexpected circumstances. After the death of Vyacheslav Trubnikov and Lev Sotkov, Aleksey Ogaryov and Zalim Kerefor were found dead. Several civilian officials also died in 2022, among them Oleg Kortunov, head of Cheboksary, and deputy Pavel Antov. In 2023, during a trip to India, the director of the aviation sector and the general director of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic died, while general director Igor Nosov was officially declared dead from a stroke.
