Family Injured in Russian Strike in Rivne Region; 13-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition

Сім'я постраждала внаслідок атаки окупантів на Рівненщині; 13-річний хлопець в тяжкому стані.

Russian Assault Hits Northern Rivne Region

In the northern area of Rivne Oblast, a Russian attack has left seven members of a large family wounded, including four children. Among the injured is a 13-year-old boy who remains in critical condition. Alexander Koval, head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, reported that the family’s home suffered significant damage. The casualties also include two women, a man, and three other children, with three of the children sustaining moderate injuries.

Targeting of Energy Infrastructure and Civilian Sites

On October 8 and 9, Russian forces struck two energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, damaging equipment and igniting fires. Additionally, on the night of October 9, a drone attack by Russian troops targeted a hypermarket in a suburb of Chernihiv, causing another fire. These attacks highlight ongoing efforts to disrupt critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

"A large family was harmed in the northern part of Rivne following yet another hostile strike," Alexander Koval stated. "Three children have sustained moderate injuries, while a 13-year-old boy remains in critical condition," he added, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

These incidents underscore the continuing aggression by Russian forces, particularly their impact on civilians and essential infrastructure. The repeated strikes on energy facilities and public locations increase risks for local populations, especially in frequently targeted regions. It is crucial for the international community to recognize the humanitarian toll of these attacks, prioritizing the safety of children and non-combatants.

The recent attack in Rivne is part of a troubling pattern, as civilian areas across Ukraine continue to face aggression. Similar incidents were reported on September 13, when Russian strikes affected multiple regions, including Odessa and Ternopil, resulting in casualties and damage.
