On the night of September 14, drones attacked the Kirishi oil refinery in the Leningrad region of Russia. This information was reported by the Exilenova+ resource based on data from the 'Glavkom' portal.

The attack on the Kirishi refinery was part of a restless night for Russia, as this large oil refinery came under fire. Its capacity exceeds 20 million tons of oil per year, and the plant is among the top 10 largest in the country.

Similar incidents have already occurred in Russia. For example, on the night of August 30, oil refineries in Krasnodar and Syzran were attacked. The Krasnodar refinery, the oldest among Russian oil refineries, is a subsidiary of LLC 'Afipsky Refinery' and also ceased operations after the attack.

Drone attacks on oil refineries in Russia are becoming increasingly common. This may provoke increased security measures at such facilities and exacerbate the situation in the country's energy sector.
