In Romania, law enforcement discovered an unknown drone with a parachute and initiated an investigation, reports Digi24 citing information from Glavkom.
Hunters who went out hunting in the Leresti area of Arges County noticed a drone that had fallen among the trees in a wooded area. The police were notified of the incident, after which law enforcement arrived at the scene and restricted traffic.
The published photo shows a large drone two meters wide, which had crashed 'nose-first' into the ground. The Sindicatul Europol union noted that a certain 'homemade device' and parachute were attached to the drone. This raised some questions about the origin of the drone and its purpose.
It is currently unknown whether the drone is related to the conflict in Ukraine; it is confirmed that it was not used by military personnel from NATO bases in the area, Sindicatul Europol reported.
This case resembles similar situations in Turkey and Bulgaria, where unmanned aerial vehicles were also discovered. However, it should be noted that this drone did not contain explosives and posed no threat, as specialists determined after examining it.
An unknown drone with a parachute was found in Romania. Law enforcement has begun an investigation into this incident after a large drone fell among the trees during a hunters' outing. Government officials noted that the drone did not have threatening elements and was not related to military operations in the area. Similar incidents have been reported earlier in Turkey and Bulgaria, which is understandable in the context of the increasing popularity of unmanned technology in various countries.
