Financial Assistance for Independence Day
In August 2026, some citizens in Ukraine will receive a one-time financial assistance for Independence Day. The amount of the payment for certain categories will be 650 hryvnias. Funds for this assistance are allocated from the state budget, and the procedure and amounts of such payments are approved annually by the government through a separate decision.
Categories of Assistance Recipients
The one-time financial assistance payment is provided for war veterans, their family members, and other categories defined by law. Among those who will receive assistance are:
- family members of deceased or dead war veterans;
- fallen Defenders of Ukraine;
- husbands or wives of deceased persons with disabilities due to war who have not remarried;
- single wives or husbands of deceased participants in combat actions;
- wives or husbands of victims of Nazi persecution who have not remarried and had the status of a person with a disability due to general illness, occupational injury, or for other reasons.
Most recipients will have the assistance credited automatically along with their pension in August. Persons who are not registered with the Pension Fund or belong to certain categories are required to contact the authorized bodies and submit the appropriate application.
