In six settlements of the Bakhchisarai district of occupied Crimea, the wells have dried up, so water is now being delivered to residents. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referencing the head of the district administration, Anzhelika Yastrebova.
The problem affected Trudolyubivka, Hlyboke Yaru, Malyi Sadovyi, Velykyi Sadovyi, Syreni, and Kuibyshene. Water delivery has been organized in these settlements. There are also restrictions in the village of Kazanky, where due to an accident on the networks water is supplied according to a schedule.
Water Problems in Mariupol
The difficult situation with water supply is primarily related to the lack of precipitation, including in the autumn-winter period, and summer heat, Yastrebova stated. According to her, the construction of a water pipeline from the Shchaslyvenske reservoir will partially meet the district's water needs. It should be noted that the StaroCrimean reservoir in Mariupol has almost completely dried up. In addition, due to the water deficit, there is a threat of losing fish and aquatic ecosystems.
Cities of Donbas, including Donetsk and Makiivka, also have water supply problems. The lack of water has caused serious issues that threaten the outbreak of epidemics. Local residents complain about the critical situation in the occupied cities, which could escalate into a humanitarian crisis.
Water supply problems have affected both occupied Crimea and the cities of Donbas, which could lead to serious consequences for the residents of these regions.
