On August 22, a terrible tragedy occurred in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ukrainian Irina Zarutska, who was seeking refuge in a foreign country, was killed on a train. The suspect in this horrific act, 34-year-old Dekarlos Brown Jr., has been apprehended.
Video recordings from surveillance cameras captured how the horrific event unfolded in a car of the Lynx Blue Line light rail. The woman boarded the train at 9:46 PM and sat down in front of the suspect. A few minutes later, the aggressor suddenly attacked with a knife, and the tragedy occurred.
'After the attack, Brown exited the train at the next stop. Passengers, noticing the blood, immediately began to help the victim,' eyewitnesses report.
The suspect has already been arrested. He was injured in the arm during the attack, and after receiving medical attention, he was charged with first-degree murder.
The deceased Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roschina, who became a victim in captivity in Russia, was posthumously awarded the American award for bravery - the Oxi Courage Award. This distinction is given to those who demonstrate courage and determination in today's world. The 'Oxi' award honors those who show bravery in the current world.
